Well, the bad news first. Our local long-term housing fell thru tonight. So I guess if it comes to that, we'll be living with friends for a while. And we are very thankful for gracious friends willing to put up a family of 6 that includes a temperamental 9-month-old. But yeah, let's just hope it doesn't come to that. I've checked around for other housing options, but there's nothing, literally. Seriously. There.is.nothing. Just pray that God would provide something, or give us endurance (and our friends.) If we have to fight a flood day in and day out, and watch our property, crops, shop, elevator, yard, barn, and house all "go under", we're not going to be very good house guests.
The good news? Well, no sign of water yet. But we didn't expect to--they are saying in another week we'll have a 26 foot river (i.e. massive flooding closer to the river), so we'll see what things look like then. I think hubby plans to start building the dike around our house tomorrow or Monday, so may be I'll have pictures then.
